About Netherlands: The name Netherlands literally meaning "Lower Countries" came about due to its low land and flat geography with only about 50% of its land exceeding one meter above the sea level.  Most of the areas are below sea level and are man-made. About the University: The Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences is a vocational university located in the city ofRotterdam, Netherlands. It was created in 1988 by a large-scale merger of 19 higher education schools. It teaches at ten campuses in Rotterdam and one in the nearby city of Dordrecht.
